Roopa, who was named the first female Secretary of the Interior in August 2019 alone, was transferred and has now been awarded the position of Managing Director of the state Crafts Emporium. Nimbalkar, who was the Additional Commissioner of Police (Administration), Bengaluru has been in charge of the Internal Security Division. These transfers were made in conjunction with other transfers / promotions within the state IPS officer cadre.

Roopa has said that this transfer has put her on “equal footing” with Nimbalkar, who has been indicted by the Central Bureau of Investigation in the case of the multi-core IMA Ponzi scheme.
