The horrific Hathras incident has sparked outrage across the country with social media raging over the political angle of the gangrape case. And now, the latest comment from Bharatiya Janata Party leader and MLA Surendra Singh has sparked new controversy. Uttar Pradesh MLA’s comment on how parents should teach their daughters to ‘behave and dress appropriately’ did not go well with netizens. Even some of the Bollywood celebrities raised their voices against such a hypocritical statement.

Actress Kriti Sanon was furious when she saw the video in which the BJP MLA advised parents to ‘teach daughters how not to be raped’. The actor reacted strongly saying that this kind of mentality has to change.

Others from B-Town, including Farah Khan Ali, Vir Das, Onir, and Shruti Seth, also expressed surprise.

A 19-year-old girl was allegedly taken away by four men in a Hathras village on September 14, later on Tuesday the girl died. The incident caused a commotion across the country. Her cremation allegedly without the consent of her family sparked outrage across the country.
