Krafton Announces Collaboration With Microsoft, Data Security Approach Suggests PUBG Mobile Return In India

In a move to ensure the security and protection of user data, South Korean company Krafton Incorporated announced today that it will work with Microsoft-owned cloud computing service Azure to host a wide range of its titles.

This agreement ensures that Krafton and its major subsidiaries, such as PUBG Corporation, will use Azure services for their online multiplayer Battle Royale title, Player Unknown Battlegrounds (PUBG PC and console), as well as the mobile version. PUBG Mobile.

Krafton and Microsoft to Collaborate as Data Security Focus Points Towards PUBG Mobile’s Return to India

According to a BusinessWire report, Krafton has made the security and protection of its users’ data the highest priority. This claim has been proven through this partnership as Microsoft Azure provides top of the line security. This collaboration will ensure that user privacy remains of the utmost importance.

These steps towards data security and privacy were taken amid growing concerns regarding the security of user data at PUBG Corporation. This company’s ties to Tencent Games, the Chinese giant under the scanner for user data security, have not helped it at all. These problems have even caused the ban of PUBG Mobile in India.

PUBG Mobile was banned in September for security reasons

The Indian government had suspended PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite in September 2. These games were prohibited by Section 69A of the Information Technology Act of 2009.

In compliance with this decision, the PUBG Mobile India official, in an official Facebook post, announced the termination of all services and user access to the servers of these games across India, starting from 30th of October. This move meant the total shutdown of PUBG Mobile servers across the country.

In response to this decision, PUBG Corporation also decided to withdraw its association with Tencent Games, which had the publishing and distribution rights to these popular games in India. Krafton (formerly Bluehole Inc.), the parent company of PUBG Mobile, also decided to take the publishing rights to the game into their own hands.

Since the ban, PUBG Corporation has been looking for ways to make the game accessible once again for Indian users. Lately, many reliable sources in the PUBG Mobile community have hinted that the native version of this game will be released in the next few days in collaboration with Microsoft.

And the news of this partnership between Azure and Krafton only reinforces these claims. However, there has been no official announcement from PUBG Corp or Microsoft regarding this matter. The fans and gamers will be really excited and eagerly awaiting the official statement as this title enjoys a huge fan base in India.
