A 48-year-old woman suffered a heart attack when her sister-in-law, upset that she had been served “stale biryani,” assaulted her at her two-story home in Ganguly Bagan in Calcutta.
According to a Times of India report, the defendant, who owns an architecture studio in the Dalhousie area, was angered when her son began to vomit after allegedly being served “stale biryani” by Falguni Basu.
The 40-year-old man began beating Falguni and shortly after, the latter fell unconscious. They took her to a hospital where doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival.
The police have arrested the accused and are under investigation.
