CALCUTTA: Police arrested BJP leader Rakesh Singh from the Galsi area of ​​West Bengal’s Purba Bardhaman district on Tuesday night in connection with his alleged involvement in a drug seizure case, a senior official said.
His two sons were also arrested by the narcotics section of the Kolkata Police for preventing their personnel from entering the residence of the BJP state committee member in the port area of ​​the city, he said.
Pamela Goswami, Secretary of State for Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), was arrested along with a friend and her personal security guard from the New Alipore area of ​​southern Kolkata on February 19 after seizing around 90g of cocaine of your car. Goswami later claimed that it was a conspiracy by Singh.
The Kolkata Police sent a notice to Singh asking him to appear before investigators at the Kolkata Police Headquarters in Lalbazar during the day in connection with the case. However, he said he travels to Delhi to work and appear before the police on February 26.
The BJP leader will be taken to Calcutta, the officer said.
