Hyderabad: TRS Chairman and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said on Wednesday that he would soon convene a conclave of opposition leaders to launch a united fight by criticizing the NDA government in the Center for divestment from PSU and the “anti-farmer” policies.
Rao, addressing a joint TRS, MLA and MLC MPs meeting here, said he would speak to various opposition parties across the country and that they would declare a battle against the BJP-led NDA likely in the middle of next month.
“Very soon, I am going to hold a conclave of the Indian opposition parties in Hyderabad. 100 percent. We will start a fight. We will give the Hyderabad Declaration and we will sound the shell for the battle in this country …”, he said . said.
The TRS supreme, popularly known as KCR, raised questions about divestment proposals related to public sector units, including the LIC, and the privatization of railways, and launched a strong attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Modi, who described himself as ‘chaiwala’ at a train station, was now ‘selling’ the station, he said.
“God knows where the ‘chaiwala’ has gone. The person who said he sold tea is now selling the train station … What is the need to privatize the railways that employ billions and serve millions of people ? ” Rao asked.
“I maintain that KCR is going to launch this fight, it could be in the second week of December. While protecting the state and doing politics in the state, it is definitely necessary to raise the voice in the country against the attitude of the Modi government towards the PSUs. and actions against farmers, “Rao said.
He said the former NDA government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee started the divestment ministry. It did not install any PSUs, but “finished” seven of them, while Manmohan Singh’s congressional government gave the same treatment to three others, it alleged.
The current Modi government targeted 23 PSUs, including the LIC, the world’s largest insurance company with 40 million policyholders, he said, asking why it should be privatized.
The LIC delivered a dividend of Rs 2,600 crore to the Center even this year, he said. “Who knows where foreign companies would invest their money?” I ask.
Claiming that millions of workers, including those in power plants in the states, were ready to join the battle, he quoted some of those workers’ leaders who had told them they had no faith in Congress and wanted him to start the Bell. .
Rao, who was addressing party leaders in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections scheduled for December 1, said his party would back staff from central PSUs such as Railways, LIC, BHEL, BSNL and NTPC and asked them to support those who speak out for them at the polls.
He claimed that the NDA government in the Center has not given a rupee to help the victims of the recent rains and floods in the city.
In a veiled attack on the BJP without naming him, he said, however, one of the parties claimed to have provided funds.
He said TRS leaders should initiate a debate with the people of Hyderabad whether they want a peaceful city that achieves rapid economic growth or one that witnesses community violence and curfews. Some parties allowed themselves to create temporary profit splits that needed to be offset, he added.
