Hyderabad: The TS government was surprised that Prime Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s name was not on the protocol list of important personalities to receive Prime Minister Narendra Modi upon his arrival in the city on Saturday. The list was received from the Prime Minister’s Office on Friday.

Under standard protocol, the Governor, Chief Minister, Union Ministers, and senior officials welcome the Prime Minister each time he visits the state.

In view of the Prime Minister’s visit to Hyderabad, the state government officially informed the Prime Minister’s Office on Friday that the Chief Minister will receive the Prime Minister along with other VIPs at Hakimpet Air Base.

According to the state government, the Prime Minister’s Office in response sent a list with the names of five officers who will be present in Hakimpet to receive the Prime Minister.

State government sources said that the prime minister’s private secretary, Vivek Kumar, informed the chief secretary, Somesh Kumar, by phone that the prime minister’s presence was not necessary at the airport.

The Prime Minister’s Office appointed Hakimpet Air Office Commander, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, DGP M. Mahendar Reddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri Collector Swetha Mohanty and Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar to follow protocol and welcoming the Prime Minister at the airport.
