Up to 41.28 percent of all students who sat for the second-year pre-university certificate (PUC) exam in Karnataka achieved eligibility for higher studies, as results were announced on Friday.
While more than 2.12 lakhs of students sat for the exams held from September 7 to 19, 87,784 of them, including 49,970 boys and 37,994 girls, passed the exams, the Department of Pre-University Education announced.

Among the combinations, the majority of students obtained passing grades and higher in the arts branch with a passing rate of 45.15%, followed by commerce with 39.02% and science in which 37.45% of the students students passed.
According to DPUE officials, the appraisal was carried out at 11 camps in Bengaluru from September 23 to October 5. The government deployed up to 3,162 appraisers for evaluation.
The passing percentage of students belonging to rural areas was higher than that of urban areas, since 45.78% of Rual students and 39.95% of students from urban areas passed the complementary exam.

At the intermediate level, the best result was that of the students of average level in Kannada, with 45.41 percent, followed by 35.89 percent of students of average level in English who passed the exam.
Students can apply for the scanned copy of the answer scripts from October 10-16. They will be available on the official websites pue.kar.nic.in. The fee for the scanned copy per subject will be Rs 530. Additionally, students who have requested a scanned copy can also request re-evaluation and recapitulation. While there is no fee to re-total, the retest fee per subject will be Rs 1,670.
In the Karnataka PUC 2nd year results stated earlier that 61.80 percent of students passed. In annual exams, students from urban areas had performed better. When it comes to streaming, science has been the best performing stream with up to a 76.2 percent approval rating.
