Passengers can present a negative certificate after landing or undergo a test upon arrival in Karnataka at the airport.
The Karnataka government announced on Friday that all international travelers entering the state will be required to undergo 14 days of home quarantine. Travelers can also choose to self-quarantine in institutional quarantine facilities, if they so choose. However, this can be avoided if the traveler can submit a negative RT-PCR test report taken 72 hours prior to the travel date. These were part of the latest guidelines issued by the Commissioner for Health and Family Welfare Services, Karnataka Pankaj Kumar Pandey.
Travelers will also need to submit a self-declaration form at https: //www.newdelhiairport.
The test report must also be uploaded to the Air Suvidha portal and it must be produced on arrival in Karnataka. Additionally, passengers can choose to avoid the 14-day quarantine by undergoing a test upon arrival in Karnataka at Bengaluru Airport as well. Exemptions to these criteria include pregnant women, death of a family member, people with serious illnesses, and parents of children under 10 years of age.
Business travelers, short-term travelers and students who are writing exams in Karnataka will be exempt from home quarantine if they carry a negative RT-PCR test report that should have been done within 72 hours prior to embarking on the trip . They will have to carry out a self-check of their health for 14 days from the date of arrival in India. If they develop any symptoms similar to COVID-19, they have been advised to seek medical consultation immediately.
Similarly, international passengers who have landed in other states and arrive in Karnataka with symptoms will self-isolate and undergo rapid antigen tests or RT-PCR. Asymptomatic passengers who arrive without a negative certificate and do not opt for a RT-PCR test at the airport, must pass 14 days of mandatory quarantine.
