Gurudatta Layout and Dattatreya Nagar, near Hosakerehalli, some areas near Rajarajeshwari Nagar were the most affected, as many houses in the locality were flooded. The water currents even dragged some vehicles in the town.

According to officials, several rooms recorded more than 100mm of rain on Friday. With no rain this morning and water running down in flooded areas, civic workers are carrying out clean-up activities.

Finance Minister R Ashoka, who visited the affected areas, said that he will speak to the chief minister about providing aid to those affected, and officials have been instructed to carry out inspection work.
