About Saif’s mantra that changed her
Speaking to the BBC Asian Network, Kareena said Saif had told her that he was offered Talaash. However, she was surprised when Saif told her that she had rejected her. “I think at that point Saif wanted to do a more commercial kind of movie,” Kareena said. “The best thing I have learned from Saif is to feel comfortable with myself and not always chase after money, success and fame. He taught me to love the most important things in life, that there is something greater than money, fame and success, that you probably did not know, such as family, love, tranquility, peace of mind, reading a book or sit down having a conversation not about the job and the competition, ”he said.
On the debate over nepotism

Speaking with Anupama Chopra, Kareena said, “Actually, it was Shahid who said that you should listen to the script for this movie. He was like, ‘It’s amazing, the girl part is amazing and you should do it.’ He actually got this whole project together and we both ended up making this movie, ”he said. On dealing with Tashan’s failure
Kareena said she expected a lot from Tashan, her film with Saif Ali Khan, for which she had lost a lot of weight. She said she was disappointed when the film failed at the box office.
Kareena said that during this time, she connected a lot with her Geet character on Jab We Met. “It was tough for me professionally and personally. Because if you could see how her life took a turn in the second half of the film, much of my life took a turn during the making of the film, “she said in an interview with Film Companion. Kareena added that all her hope was still in Tashan and when the film failed, she was “depressed for six months.”
“When Tashan bombed and this movie became what it was, I was devastated. I was depressed for almost six months. I was like, I can’t believe this happened, ”he said. But he soon realized that ‘this is how it was supposed to be’.
On hearing for the first time in 20 years

Kareena said that the first time she had to audition in her career was last year for Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha. Speaking with Rajeev Masand, Kareena said that Aamir wanted to be safe. “Because knowing what it is like, I think I wanted to be 100% sure. So out of nowhere, randomly, I got a call from Aamir. “I want you to listen to this movie, this and that and I am very excited about it.” So it happened in a very organic way. I heard the script right at that moment the moment he called me and told me to read some scenes. I want you to read some scenes. So I thought yeah, I’ve never done something like this before. I thought like what the heck. I want to see myself if I want to do this or not and you know there is nothing wrong with that, ”she said.
“But you know what, I think times are changing and if I don’t evolve and behave like I’m a diva or this is beyond me … And Saif was the one who told me ‘What’s wrong with you? Even an Al Pacino would try the role. There is nothing wrong, we all have to be safe as actors and artists, “he said.
