Kareena Kapoor Khan believes that the renewed debate over nepotism in Bollywood is the result of people being frustrated by the pandemic and staying locked in their homes. In an interview with Anupama Chopra, Kareena said once again that she doesn’t know “why everyone has participated in this great discussion.”
Kareena said that people cannot assume that just because she is a movie star that her son Taimur will be too. “I believe that everyone gets what they deserve in their lives, what is in their destiny. Yeh nahi hai ki Taimur Ali Khan will become the biggest star in this country. He is not. He’s probably the most photographed kid in this country, for whatever reason, I have no idea. I will also wish my son to be self-sufficient and self-sufficient. I’m like you do what you want to do in life. You want to be a chef somewhere, pilot, whatever you want to do. I want you to fly and be happy in your life. And because you have successful parents, you don’t have to be successful. His journey will begin when he wants to begin. You have to find your own way. His parents will not help him in any way, ”he said.
Kareena said her parents didn’t help her in her career either. She said that she was known as Karisma Kapoor’s sister at first, but that she had to make her way in the industry. “So all this nepotism ki ye hoga woh hoga, the star of Taimur banega … arre we don’t know either,” he added.
Kareena and her husband Saif are expecting their second child. The couple made the announcement last month. Speaking of which, Kareena said that she wishes she could get through this pregnancy as well, but has to be realistic considering the coronavirus pandemic. She also said she hopes to have a healthy pregnancy without gaining unnecessary weight. She said she was fed paranthas, milk and kiss laddoos last time, but she will be more cautious now that she has learned what her body needs.
The actor also hopes to finish filming Laal Singh Chaddha with Aamir Khan. Kareena said that Aamir has graciously agreed to shoot his part in the movie first, before it gets ‘huge’. He still has 12-15 days of filming the movie. However, Kareena says that Karan Johar’s Takht has been put on the back burner for now considering the huge human resources the period film would have required amid the pandemic.
