Karan Johar apologizes to Madhur Bhandarkar in open letter, says Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives title is ‘new and different’ – bollywood


Karan Johar finally responded to Madhur Bhandarkar, days after he was accused of modifying the latter’s proprietary title and using it for Dharma Productions’ upcoming reality web show, The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives. The show will premiere on Netflix on Friday with the focus on four ‘Bollywood wives’: Neelam Kothari, Seema Khan, Maheep Kapoor and Bhavana Panday.

In an open letter to Bhandarkar that she shared on social media, Karan wrote: “Dear Madhur, Our relationship goes back a long time and we have both been a part of this united industry for many, many years. Throughout all these years. I have been a fervent admirer of your work and I have always wished you the best ”.

Apologizing for the use of such a title for the upcoming show, Karan further said, “I know you’ve been upset with us. I humbly apologize for any wrong done to you over the course of the past few weeks. However, I would like to clarify that we have chosen this new and different title – The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives – with the non-fiction format of our reality-based franchise series in mind. As our title was delicate, I did not expect it to bother you as it has and for that I duly apologize. ”

He assured Bhandarkar that his show will not harm the former’s project and said: “I want to inform you that we have been promoting our series with the hashtag ‘Fabulous Lives’ on all social media platforms, which is the title of the franchise that we intend to go to. forward with. We assure you that the format, nature, audience and title of our series are different and would in no way affect or hinder the exploitation of your work.

He ended the letter by saying, “I hope we can get away from this and continue to make exceptionally good content for our audience. I wish him the best for all his endeavors and I look forward to seeing his work. ”

Earlier Thursday, Bhandarkar had shared images of the notices he had sent to the production house of Karan Johar and other bodies, stating that he had not yet received any response from him. He had accused them of “misuse and adjustment” of the title of his ongoing project, Bollywood Wives.
