Citing its controversial involvement in the Shaheen Bagh shooting incident, the Ghaziabad unit of the BJP stated that the party was not aware of Gujjar’s role. The party has decided to show the exit route to Gujjar after learning of his criminal act.

The Hindustan Times reported that Gujjar, who opened fire less than 150 meters from the Shaheen Bagh protest site, had told investigators that he purchased the domestically-made pistol seven years ago to “shoot in celebration” at his brother’s wedding. .
