NEW DELHI: India’s first World Cup winning captain Developer Kapil He was released from a city hospital on Sunday, two days after undergoing angioplasty following a heart attack.
The 61-year-old man complained of chest pain on Thursday, after which he was taken to the Fortis Escorts Heart Institute emergency department.
He is fine now.
“Mr. Kapil Dev was discharged this afternoon. He is fine and will soon be able to resume his usual daily activity. He will be in regular follow-up consultation with Dr. Atul mathur“the hospital said in a statement.
Angioplasty is a procedure to open blocked arteries and restore normal blood flow to the heart.
After his admission, Kapil’s condition was assessed and Dr. Mathur, who is the chair of the cardiology department at the Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, performed an emergency coronary angioplasty.
