Kannada actress Ragini Dwivedi's Bengaluru home wanted in drug investigation

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) of Bengaluru, which is investigating the threat of drugs in the Kannada film industry, carried out searches at the residence of actress Ragini Dwivedi on Friday morning, police said.

“The CCB obtained the search warrant from a court,” said a police officer.

According to police sources, a team of CCB detectives arrived at Ragini Dwivedi’s residence at around 6 a.m.

The CCB had served the actress with a notice on Wednesday, asking her to appear before them on Thursday, but she sent a team of lawyers looking for time until Monday. The police ordered him to appear before them on Friday. CCB sources said the actress will appear before detectives at 10 in the morning.

Meanwhile, police said they arrested a Ravi, who has close acquaintances in the Kannada film industry, in connection with the drug case and a court sent him into police custody for five days.

The CCB intensified its investigation into a drug trade in Bengaluru after the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested three people from the city, allegedly supplying drugs to singers and actors in the Kannada film industry, also known as “Sandalwood”.

Filmmaker and journalist Indrajit Lankesh had given his statement to the CCB about drug abuse in Sandalwood.

He also claimed that at least 15 people from the industry were involved in drug trafficking.

Ragini Dwivedi, whose family comes from the Haryana Rewari, was born in Bengaluru. He made his debut in the movie “Veera Madakari” in 2009.

Rose to fame for her roles in Kempe Gowda, Ragini IPS, Bangari, and Shiva.
