Kangana Ranaut wants IPS officer D Roopa suspended, calls her ‘unworthy, unworthy’

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut attacked D Roopa Moudgil for her comments about the explosion of firecrackers on Diwali and called for her suspension, saying that police officers like her were a “disgrace on behalf of the police force.”

Ranaut’s tweet against the Indian Police Service (IPS) officer comes in the context of a dispute between Moudgil and a popular Twitter name True Indology over the origin of the firecrackers and whether they were used in ancient India. This began after various state governments imposed a ban on cookie popping during Diwali.

In a tweet on November 14, the Bengaluru police officer shared her Facebook post saying that the setting off of firecrackers was not part of Hindu tradition, as it was not mentioned in religious scriptures or epics. The statement was contested by True Indology, who in turn “accepted the challenge” and cited texts to prove the point, but failed to convince Moudgil.

As discussions between the two progressed, Twitter suspended control of True Indology. The reason for the account suspension was not stated.

“It should be suspended, those cops are a disgrace on behalf of the #ShameOnYouIPSRoopa police force, we can’t let her get away with #BringBackTrueIndology,” Ranaut said in his tweet. “The side effects of reserves, when the unworthy and the unworthy get power, they don’t heal, it just hurts, I don’t know anything about their personal life, but I guarantee you that your frustration comes from your incompetence,” he tweeted as well.

Ranaut also supported the true ideology with the hashtag #BringBackTrueIndology. In a series of tweets, the actress criticized police for being “vindictive” and allowing herself to fight during her working hours. “The government appoints people like @D_Roopa_IPS to protect the fundamental rights of commoners, but look at their disgusting ignorance as a loser, it became so vindictive that if it couldn’t win the discussions with facts, it just removed @TIinExile. D_Roopa_IPS, ”the Bollywood actor tweeted.

He also questioned Twitter and its chief executive, Jack Dorsey, about the account’s suspension and sought action against the social media site that labels the office of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “@Jack @Twitter @TwitterIndia, your bias and Islamist propaganda are shameful, why did you suspend @TIinExile? Because it broke false narratives of our history? What a shame, waiting for the day when it will be banned in India, I hope @PMOIndia will take action against Twitter, ”he tweeted.

The leader of Congress, Abhishek Singhvi, also called Moudgil. “It is not appropriate for IPS officials in the country to be arguing with anonymous Twitter during working hours as well. Make a point, let it go, you’re not getting anything by arguing about SM! Singhvi tweeted.
