After a civil court in Mumbai dismissed an application filed by Kangana Ranaut last week and observed the violation of the sanctioned plan while merging its three apartments, the Bollywood actress responded to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), denying the charge. She took to Twitter and gave a scathing response to the civic body, accusing it of ‘harassing’ her. He confirmed that he will transfer to a higher court.
“Mahavinashkari government fake propaganda, I have not joined any apartment, the whole building is built the same, one apartment on each floor, this is how I bought it, BMC just harasses me in the whole building. It will fight in a superior court, “she wrote.

A civil court had previously dismissed an application submitted by the plaintiff for which the full order has now been issued. Judge LS Chavan noted that Ranaut, who owns three floors on the fifth floor of a 16-story building in Khar, merged them into one. In doing so, it covered the sunken area, the duct area, the common passage and converted the Free Floor Space Index (FSI) to the habitable area, the judge observed.

In March 2018, the BMC had sent a notification to Ranaut for alleged unauthorized construction on his Khar flats. Another notice called for the restoration of the structure to its original position, warning that otherwise the unauthorized part would be demolished. Kangana Ranaut challenged the notice and asked the court to stop the Mumbai civic body from carrying out the demolition.

Kangana Ranaut’s office was demolished in September
On 9 September, a part of Kangana’s home-office of her Manikarnika Films production house on Pali Hill in Bandra was demolished by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation in controversial circumstances. The actress was on her way from Manali when the drama unfolded after the BMC posted a 24-hour work stoppage notice citing “illegal alterations” and continuing the demolition moments before she arrived. A legal battle over the matter is ongoing.
