On Tuesday night, Kangana Ranaut used his Twitter account to react to a tweet by Shiv Sena’s MP Sanjay Raut, highlighting that lyricist Javed Akhtar filed a defamation case against the actor. Javed Akhtar filed a complaint against the actor in a local court for allegedly making baseless and defamatory comments against him.
Kangana in response wrote: “Ek thi Sherni … Aur ek bhediyo ka jhund” [In translation: Once, there was a lioness… and another a pack of wolves].

Akhtar filed the complaint with the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate, seeking action against Ranaut under the relevant provisions of the IPC for defamation.
According to the complaint, Ranaut had recently made certain unsubstantiated comments about Akhtar that have damaged the reputation of the veteran poet and lyricist. He added that Ranaut dragged Akhtar’s name to refer to an existing “clique” in Bollywood following the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in June.

She had also claimed that Akhtar had threatened her not to speak about her alleged relationship with actor Hrithik Roshan, she said. All of these statements made by Ranaut have garnered views in the billions and thus tarnished Akhtar’s reputation, according to the complaint.
Mumbai Police Issue Second Notice to Kangana
Mumbai police issued a second notice to Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut and his sister Rangoli Chandel regarding a case of allegedly promoting enmity between communities through their comments, an official said Tuesday. Earlier, Bandra Police on October 21 issued a notice to the actress and her sister to record their statements in the case last month.
However, Ranaut’s lawyer sent a reply to the police station, saying that she was in Himachal Pradesh and was busy with the preparations for her first cousin’s wedding. Bandra police have now sent a second notice to both of them to be present at the police station on November 10 to record their statements in the case, the official said.
Bandra Police have registered a FIR against Ranaut and her sister under sections 153-A of the IPC (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, etc.), 295-A (deliberate acts that hurt religious feelings ) and 124-A (sedition), 34 (common intention).
