Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut was hit hard by Congress on Monday for her comments on “Mumbai-PoK” and for leaving the city for her home state without giving drug information to government agencies.

Mumbai is the “pride” of Maharashtra and India and degrading the city to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) is “blasphemy,” said All India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary Ashish Dua without naming Ranaut, who is already facing fire from the party’s ally, Shiv Sena.
Taking Twitter a day after Ranaut met Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan here by
Demolition of his office by the Mumbai civic body last week, Dua also said that the governor’s office “is not for politics.”
“#Mumbai is the pride of #Maharashtra and all of India. This is a city that has realized the dreams of millions without prejudice or discrimination. Demeaning it compared to PoK is blasphemy. The boss’s office is not for politics (sic) “said Dua.

He said the BJP should refrain from “dividing citizens based on region.” Ranaut had said that he met Koshyari to inform him of the “injustice” that had been done to him. Meanwhile, Maharashtra congressional spokesman Sachin Sawant criticized the actress for leaving Mumbai for her home state of Himachal Pradesh, without giving information about the drugs to government agencies.

The Congress is one of the components of the government of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) led by Shiv Sena, the other being
the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Earlier in the day, the “Queen’s” star, before leaving for Himachal Pradesh, reiterated her PoK speech, which had irritated the Sena and other MVA members.
Ranaut has tweeted that she has been terrorized with “constant attacks and abuse” and that her analogy comparing
the capital of Maharashtra with PoK was “bang on”. Sena and Ranaut have been at odds since the actress compared Mumbai to PoK after Sena MP Sanjay Raut asked her not to return to Mumbai.
Raut had targeted Ranaut after the latter expressed mistrust of the Mumbai police in light of the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
