A team of officials from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) visited actor Kangana Ranaut’s office on Pali Hill in Bandra West to verify an alleged illegal construction Monday afternoon. According to BMC officials, there is an illegal extension at his office, and a team from the Construction Proposals department has inspected the facilities to verify deviations from approved plans.

However, as of now, there is no clarity on whether BMC has any complaints about the alleged illegal construction and also whether there were any prior complaints. BMC Deputy Municipal Commissioner (DMC) Parag Masurkar said he was not aware of the action and will get details soon.

Following the action, Ranaut tweeted about the BMC team’s visit. “They have forcibly taken over my office measuring everything. I have all the papers, permits from BMC. Nothing illegal has been done on my property, BMC must send a structure plan to show the illegal construction with a warning, today they raided my place and tomorrow without prior notice they demolished the entire structure, “said Ranaut.

A BMC source said that in 2018, the civic body had notified Ranaut of illegal construction at his house in Bandra West under the Maharashtra Regional and Urban Planning Act (MRTP). “The matter is pending in Dindoshi’s court as the actor had defied BMC’s notice,” said a senior BMC official.

However, it is unclear whether any advance notice was given to the actor for alleged illegal construction in his office.

The Ministry of the Interior (MHA) on Monday category Y + security granted to Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut after she expressed a threat to her life while speaking about drug use in a section of the film industry, following the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

The development also comes in the wake of the feud between Ranaut and Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut after the actress compared Mumbai to Pakistani-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
