New Delhi:
By accusing former Madhya Pradesh chief ministers Kamal Nath and Digvijaya Singh of being the “biggest traitors”, BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia said they betrayed the trust of voters by running a “corrupt” government and had to leave Congress after the people’s problems raised by him. they were not boarded despite approaching “all ports of call”.
He also expressed confidence that the BJP “will win most”, if not all, of the 28 seats in the assembly where by-elections will be held on November 3.
Scindia said that 27 of the 28 assembly seats that will go to the polls were congressional seats, so the BJP has everything to gain, while Congress has everything to lose.
The by-elections were necessary after 22 MLA congressional rebels loyal to Scindia resigned from the party in March this year, leading to the fall of the 15-month-old Kamal Nath government in Madhya Pradesh. Later, three more MLAs resigned and joined the BJP, while another three seats were left vacant due to the death of the acting MLAs.
“Congress needs to win 28 out of 28 seats to be able to even think about getting close to forming the government and they just lost another MLA (in Rahul Lodhi) who has joined the BJP. It is very clear that people do not” I have some hope in the Congress party, not only at the grassroots, but also in the MLA of Congress, “Scindia said.
“I don’t think in any other state you would have seen MLA in such large numbers – almost 30 percent – leave. It shows very clearly the lack of trust and faith in the state leadership of the Congress party, which is Kamal Nath and Digvijaya. Singh, and they are in partnership, “said deputy Rajya Sabha.
Asked about the Congressional campaign narrative on betrayal and the call “gaddar“(traitor) by congressional leaders during the scrutiny, Scindia said that it is not a term that she normally uses in politics, as she believes that there must be a certain level in politics that she must adhere to.
“If they are in fact using that term, the major gaddars (traitors) in Madhya Pradesh are Kamal Nath and Digvijaya Singh who have been ‘gaddars“By seven and a half million people because none of the promises in the survey were fulfilled, they were engaged in rent-seeking activities and holding on to power and the presidency instead of serving the people of the state,” Scindia said.
Speaking about Kamal Nath’s “item” mockery of BJP candidate Imarti Devi, the 49-year-old leader said that public figures must adhere to certain values and morals and set an example.
Scindia said the comment was directed at a woman who rose from the grassroots level, fought in a sarpanch election, became an MLA three times and was a cabinet minister in Kamal Nath’s government.
“Kamal Nath says that he cannot remember his name, which shows his arrogance of power in not being able to remember the name of a colleague who was part of his cabinet. After all, he was only the Chief Minister, who is the first among the same, and she was a colleague, “Scindia said.
“To top it all, he calls a woman and also a Dalit woman ‘an element’, which speaks to her mindset towards both women and Dalits,” he said.
“What is very sad is that he has not been alone in this. He has been followed very hard by former opposition leader Ajay Singh who in a statement said ‘Imarti should become a Jalebi after the elections,'” he added. He said.
Scindia also alleged that former Prime Minister Digvijaya Singh had also made a disparaging comment about Meenakshi Natrajan two to three years ago.
“This shows the attitude of the Congress party towards women and programmed castes. If Baba Saheb Ambedkar were alive today, he would be deeply distressed and grieving,” Scindia said.
Kamal Nath has maintained that he did not say anything disrespectful. When asked if, like Arjuna of Mahabharata, he feels any dilemma when facing people he was close with and they fought together, Scindia said that he is fighting for the cause of the people of Madhya Pradesh and for their well-being.
Mr. Scindia said that his father Madhavrao Scindia, grandmother Vijaya Raje Scindia and joined politics only for the welfare of the people. “For me a political party is a means to be able to reach that objective of public service. So for me politics is not important, what is important is the objective of public service,” he said.
Scindia said he is willing to do whatever it takes to satisfy people’s aspirations, and if that “sometimes involves fighting with those with whom he has worked for more than 20 years, so be it.”
“I tried to change the way the (Kamal Nath) government worked for 15 months, I went to all possible ports of call to try and address these issues, but when they were not addressed, what option was left for me?” the former Minister of the Union.
Scindia said that when Congress came to power, the aspirations of the state’s citizens rested squarely on the shoulders of Kamal Nath, but he led a “government riddled with corruption for the span of 15 months.”
Accusing the Nath government of falling into corruption in numerous areas, from “sand mining to the liquor mafia,” Scindia said the congressional dispensation “literally ridiculed and belittled” the aspirations of the people.
“Failing to deliver on any of the election promises left me no choice but to seek a better governance mechanism for the people of the state. I firmly believe that the Shivraj Singh government could provide that to the people under the leadership of the Prime Minister. Narendra Modi and the party chairman, JP Nadda, and the interior minister, Amit Shah, “he said.
