Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol are not only one of the most popular couples on screen, but also close friends in real life. Kajol was once asked how he would respond if his daughter, Nysa Devgan, and Shah Rukh’s son, Aryan Khan, ran away in the future.
Kajol was asked this question during the rapid fire round in the second season of Koffee With Karan, which originally aired in 2007. She shared the couch with Shah Rukh and her cousin, Rani Mukerji. A video of the same is circulating online.
Presenter Karan Johar asked, “In 10 years, if Aryan Khan eloped with Nysa, you …” Kajol began to reveal how he would respond, but chimed in, “It’s sabotage!”, Leaving everyone divided.
“I’d say, ‘Dilwale Dulhe Le Jayenge,’” Kajol replied, referring to his iconic Shah Rukh film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. She turned to him for a high-five, but he had a poker face.
“Shah Rukh didn’t find him very smart,” observed Karan. Shah Rukh joked: “Mereko joke samajh nahi aaya (I didn’t understand the joke). I’m too scared that he will relate to me … (pretending to stutter) I can’t think! “Kajol slapped him playfully.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh and Kajol’s film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge will complete 25 years since its release on Tuesday. The film, which also starred Anupam Kher, Amrish Puri and Farida Jalal in key roles, was a box office success and screened in a theater in Mumbai for more than two decades. It marked the directorial debut of Aditya Chopra and also starred as Karan in a supporting role.
Shah Rukh and Kajol have also starred in several other hits together, including Baazigar, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and My Name Is Khan. The last time they shared screen space was Zero, who featured her in a cameo.
