Reliance Jio has launched a browser made in India, JioPages. The company claims that JioPages is focused on data privacy and gives users full control of their information. “While maintaining privacy at the core of the browser, JioPages provides superior performance compared to its peers. It is built on the powerful Chromium Blink engine, provides an improved browsing experience through faster migration of the engine, the best-in-class web page rendering, faster page loads, efficient media streaming, Emoji domain support and encrypted connection, “the company said in a statement.

Here are the key features of the all-new browser according to Reliance Jio:

Custom Home Screen – Users have the option to set any search engine such as Google, Bing, MSN, Yahoo, or Duck Duck Go, as their default search option. They can also pin their favorite website links on the home screen for quick and easy access.

Custom Theme – Users can choose from a variety of colorful background themes. The Tje browser also supports ‘Dark Mode’.

Custom content: The content source is customized to suit the user’s preferences in terms of language, theme, and region. Also, JioPages, according to the company, sends notifications only on topics that are important or of interest to the user.

Cards: Another feature is the ‘Information Card’ which is said to capture key numbers, trends, symbols or headlines for a given topic, for example stock market trends, commodity prices or cricket score, and display them as compact, clickable banners on the screen.

Supports 8 Indian Languages: The browser supports eight Indian languages: Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Gujarati, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Bengali. Users also have the option to customize their content feed based on their preferred state.
