JEE’s core exams for admission to IITs and other technical schools concluded on Sunday with government sources indicating an attendance of around 75 to 80 percent of the total 8.58 lakh registered candidates.

Although the National Testing Agency, which conducts the exam, was still in the process of compiling the data on total student attendance, sources said that attendance in the first three days of the exam from Sept. 1-3 was. about 85 percent, after which it went down. a bit.

The sources also said that the JEE Mains results would likely be for September 11 or earlier and that the list of merits for the exams would be issued on the day of the result. Top 2.5 lakh merit holders from JEE Mains will be eligible to participate in JEE Advanced to enter the 23 IIT premiere. The JEE Advanced is scheduled for September 27 and IIT Delhi is the organizing institute for the 2020 exam.

Meanwhile, NTA has started preparations for NEET UG which will take place on September 13 for admission to MBBS courses.

Discussions are underway to see if the Delhi Metro could offer free transportation to candidates on the indicated date.

JEE Mains had started on September 1 and was conducted in two daily shifts at 660 test centers where proper COVID precautions were taken to ensure the safety of students.
