The joint entrance examination, JEE Main from next year will be conducted in more regional languages of India, says Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank. The Joint Admission Board has decided this in accordance with the New National Education Policy, NEP 2020. Currently, the Engineering Entrance Exam, JEE Main, is conducted in English, Hindi and Gujarati only.
Dr. Pokhariyal took to his Twitter account to inform the students of the following news. Take a look at his tweet below. He reported that the decision would promote the ideologies of the new educational policy brought by the government. In India, the only exam that is conducted in 11 languages is the Medical Entrance Exam, NEET.
He also added: “The exam will also be conducted in regional languages where entry to state engineering universities is decided on the basis of an exam (conducted in the regional language). The state language of the states that admit students based on #JEE (primary) will also be listed under this. ”Take a look here.
The Minister of Education also added that due to this movement the students who could not score earlier due to the language barrier could score more and the number of entries is also expected to see an increase. In the previous update regarding the JEE exam, the Joint Admission Board had allowed COVID patients who missed the JEE Advanced 2020 exam to reappear for the IIT JEE 2021 exam. Students who signed up for the JEE Advanced exam this year, but who were absent in the exam, they can reappear in the JEE Advanced 2021 exam. This official statement was shared by the director of IIT Delhi, V. Ramgopal Rao on his official Twitter account. He wrote: “JAB’s final decision related to providing an additional opportunity to students who were unable to take JEE Advanced 2020.”
