JEE Advanced 2020 results winner Chirag Falor will not accept admission to IIT; know why | India News


New Delhi: Chirag Falor, the boy who headed the Joint Entrance Exam (Advanced) 2020 has decided not to enter any of India’s Institutes of Technology. The Pune boy scored 352 out of 396 points on the JEE Advanced and ranked 1 out of 1.5 lakhs from students who reportedly took the test. But now, he has revealed that he will skip the IIT and has already been admitted to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States.

“I have already gotten into MIT and will move on. Classes have already started and I am attending them online. I had been preparing for these exams for four years, so I did not want to stop attending the exam. Falor was quoted by the PTI news agency.

He also claimed that he used to attend MIT classes online at night and then prepare for IIT exams during the day.

He added: “The JEE was more difficult than the MIT exam. The exam has given me a completely different confidence.”

Among the girls, IIT Roorkee’s Kanishka Mittal had the best performance and took 17th place.

Earlier Monday, IIT Delhi declared the result of JEE (Advanced) 2020 and Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank tweeted to congratulate the students who passed the exam. Pokhriyal said that there are several opportunities available for students who were unable to obtain the desired rank. “Students must remember that an exam cannot define them,” he added.

JEE Advanced 2020 was successfully held across the country on September 27 by IIT Delhi. Almost a lakh of candidates showed up for the JEE Advanced 2020 exam amid the COVID-19 pandemic. IIT Delhi also published the All India Ranking (AIR) along with the scorecards.
