18-year-old Pune resident Chirag Falor topped the Joint Advanced Entrance Exam (JEE-Adv) this year with a score of 352 out of 396, the result of which was announced on Monday. India’s topper, Chirag, is from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) area. However, unlike many other candidates vying for seats in popular courses at top IITs, Falor plans to skip the race entirely.

“I’ve already gotten admission to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and plan to earn my college degree at the institute,” said Falor, who was busy receiving praise from various supporters Monday morning.
While Chirag is the men’s topper for JEE-Advanced 2020, the Kanishka Mittal female topper with a common rank of 17 belongs to the IIT Roorkee zone. The female topper in zone IIT-B is Niyati Mehta with a common rank of 62.

According to information shared by the organizing institute IIT Delhi on Monday, 24 of the top 100 finishers of JEE-Adv 2020 belong to the IIT Bombay area, including four of the top ten scorers. It was followed by 22 top scorers out of 100 belonging to the IIT Delhi zone.
In addition to the All India topper, the toppers for the Scheduled Caste (SC) and SC (Disabled) categories are Avi Uday and Yash Patil, both from the IIT Bombay area.
