Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Delhi has taken the JEE Advanced 2020 or IIT JEE exam today. More than 1.5 lakh candidates are taking the exam today, which took place in two shifts: morning and afternoon. Both papers were required. Experts from the Aakash Institute and the Allen Institute, Kota, have shared the analysis of the question paper. Students who took the exams also shared their comments. In general, the paper was said to be stronger than in previous years.
Based on the students’ review, they found the physics section to be the most difficult in the morning newspaper. Experts have also agreed that the paper was stronger than in previous years. Students had to try 54 questions in each of the two articles with 18 questions each on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Test 1 had a total of 6 questions on each topic that had a correct answer. They were marked with +3 for correct answer and -1 for incorrect answer. Apart from this, there were 6 questions each of several correct options. Each correct answer would get +4 and the wrong answer would get -2. 6 questions each were of a numerical type.
In test 2, there were 12 questions in each subject with numerical value. There were 6 questions with a single whole number, with a rating of +3 if correct and -1 if incorrect. There were 6 questions with a numerical value of up to 2 decimal places. 6 questions were multiple correct, in which there was a choice of +4 if it was correct and -2 points if it was incorrect and a partial score.

Brijesh Maheshwari, Director, Allen Carer Instiute, Kota has shared that compared to previous years, the document was long and more difficult and the questions were primarily of an Olympic level. While the difficulty level for Physics and Chemistry remained largely the same, the level for Physics and Mathematics in Test 2 was much higher. Regarding the types of questions, the questions in Chemistry were mainly aromatic and sterium isomerism. In Organic Chemistry, questions were asked about coordination chemistry, salt analysis, and chemical bonds.

- Physical: The role was a bit difficult and almost all the syllabus questions, if a bit calculative.
- Chemistry: The work was easy to moderate and the questions were asked within the syllabus. Physical chemistry had a slightly higher percentage of questions compared to organic and inorganic chemistry. The questions were based on the NCERT textbooks.
- Mathematics: The paper was a bit calculating and long. The algebra and calculus portion was higher, similar to last year.

Candidates taking the exam can check their results on October 6, 2020. They can also check the last year’s cut for the best IIT before the admission process begins.
