The Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Delhi has allocated 4 exam centers in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir for the JEE Advanced 2020 exam. This is the first time that Kashmir has obtained four centers for applicants to sit for the exam. The JEE Advanced exam will be held on September 27, 2020 nationwide at various centers.

Until 2019, Jammu and Kashmir only had one test center in Jammu. Following the modification of article 370 in the region, the number of examination centers has increased.

IIT Delhi Director V. Ramgopal Rao, while deleting the news stating that there are no assigned exam centers in Kashmir for the JEE 2020 advanced exam, said that the Indian Institute of Delhi, IIT Delhi has assigned 4 centers in Srinagar which are sufficient to accommodate all candidates. who will take the exam.

He took his official Twitter account to clarify and said: “This is completely false news. I have no idea why someone is spreading this. We have 4 centers in Srinagar, enough to house all the candidates. See the JEE Adv brochure. “

The IIT JEE Advanced exam is a national level exam that will be conducted as a computer-based test, CBT online. The exam will consist of two assignments, exam I and exam II, both compulsory. Each Test 1 and Test 2 has three parts: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The question document will be in English and Hindi. Negative marks would also be awarded for incorrect answers.

Meanwhile, after many students asked IIT Delhi to increase the number of attempts for the exam considering the pandemic, The director of IIT Delhi made a clarification. Professor V. Ramgopal Rao said that the decision to increase the number of JEE Advanced or IIT JEE exam attempts would be made at the JAB or Joint Admission Board meeting, where all matters related to IIT JEE or JEE Advanced 2021.
