JCO killed in Pak bombing at LoC in Jammu’s Rajouri


A junior officer (JCO) was killed in a Pakistani bombardment along the line of control (LoC) in the Nowshera sector of the Rajouri district of Jammu division on Sunday morning.

A defense official said Pakistan resorted to violating the ceasefire Sunday morning using small arms in the Kalsian, Khanger and Bhawani areas along the LoC in the Nowshera sector of Rajouri.

“A JCO was injured in the Pak bombing in the Kalsian sector. He was immediately evacuated to a military hospital but succumbed to his injuries, ”the official said.

On Saturday, the BSF had detected a cross-border tunnel that originated in Pakistan and extended 150 meters into the Samba sector of the union territory.

Since the repeal of Article 370 on August 5 last year, Pakistan has been regularly pushing militants through and also opening heavy fire at the LoC and the international border.
