Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Governor Manoj Sinha thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and the Border Roads Organization (BRO) for the 10 new bridges in the Union Territory, saying they will open new roads to development, peace and prosperity in the region.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh today inaugurated 44 bridges built by the BRO in seven states and UT in an event via videoconference.

“The newly opened bridges will play a critical role in strengthening connectivity to remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir and improve the operational efficiency of our forces. I strongly believe that bridges are not only a critical component of the country’s infrastructure, but that they also connect people and have the power to change the destiny of society and the economy of the region, “Sinha said during the meeting held by video conference.

The Lieutenant Governor expressed his hope that there will be further socio-economic development in Jammu and Kashmir in the coming year and that development will reach every corner.

Singh said that the construction of these bridges will facilitate military and civil transportation in the western, northern and northeastern areas of the country. “Our armed forces personnel are deployed in large numbers in areas where transportation is not available throughout the year,” he said.
