A female doctor stationed at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Government Medical School, Jabalpur, received a notice of cause for demonstration on Saturday for allegedly attending a protest against the Hathras case, the dean of the medical school said.
The assistant professor of the forensic department of the government medical school, Dr. Rajkumari Bansal, had taken a three-day leave from October 4-6 and went to Hathras to meet the family of the 19-year-old Dalit victim, who she died in a Delhi hospital on September 29 of injuries sustained when she was allegedly gang-raped. She denies having participated in any protests.
The dean of the medical school PK Kasar said that Rajkumari Bansal did not inform the administration of the medical school about the purpose of the license. “We learn from media reports that Rajkumari Bansal participated in a protest in Hathras. According to the rules of the service, she cannot participate in any protest because she is a government official. You have been served with the notification and your response has been requested within one week. Further action will be subject to your response. ”
Speaking to the media, Rajkumari Bansal said: “After the gang rape incident, I could not sleep well for two days. I decided to go to Hathras to comfort the family and consult the victim’s medical reports. I stayed there for two days at the request of the relatives ”.
“During my stay, the President of the Bhim Army, Chandrashekhar Ravan, came to meet the family. Some people and the media recorded my videos, which are now going viral on social media and some people have even called me a Maoist. Scandalous and unsubstantiated accusations are being made to me, ”he added.
She further said: “I went there for the good of humanity. I did not participate in any protests. I met Chandrashekhar for the first time and I am not a member of the Army of Bhim. “
“I will respond to the notice. I am going to file a complaint with the police cyber cell against those people who are circulating my videos with defamatory comments, said the doctor.
