The last date to present the ITR for the year in question was September 30. The department postponed the last date to November 30. The deadline to submit the ITR for the 2020-21 assessment year, which is the 2019-20 financial year, is November 30.
This is the fourth time the date has been revised amid the Covid-19 pandemic. First it was reviewed until June 30, then July 31, then September 30 and now until November 30.
“ Following further consideration of the genuine difficulties that taxpayers face due to the Covid-19 situation, CBDT further extends the expiration date for the supply of late and revised ITRs to the 2019-20 assessment year of the September 30, 2020 to November 30, 2020. u / s 119 (2a) issued, ”said the CBDT notification.
GST Returns
The Center has also extended the deadline for filing annual returns under Goods and Services Tax (GST) for fiscal year 2019 by one month to October 31, 2020.
“After obtaining the due authorizations from the Electoral Commission in view of the Model Code of Conduct, the Government has extended the expiration date to provide the Annual Declaration in GSTR-9 and GSTR 9C for 2018-19 from 09.30.2020 to 10.31. 2020.
