Dubai [UAE]Oct 22 (ANI): South African star spinner Imran Tahir has said it was very painful to see his compatriot and former Proteas captain Faf du Plessis bring drinks for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League.
Tahir also praised how good CSK is as a franchise. The Leg Spinner said the Chennai franchise and fans respect their players the most.
South African roulette has not played a single game for CSK this season and there has been serious speculation about when Proteas roulette will be seen in action at the ongoing IPL.
“The best team, from my heart is Chennai. I have been all over the world. I have never seen so much respect from a franchise. I have never seen someone take such good care of my family, the fans in Chennai are incredibly charming.” Tahir told Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on his YouTube show ‘Hello Dubaiahh’.
“When I play there there was a different atmosphere. And the main reason is that I love their culture. They don’t talk about performances and they always support me and that’s what I like about him, because in cricket you will act one day, and not another. ”, He added.
Tahir said he “has no idea” when he will play and said it is quite difficult for a player to make the CSK squad when four foreign players have already cemented their name.
“I have no idea. Before, Faf Du Plessis had to carry drinks all season. It was quite painful. He has a brilliant T20 average. I’m doing it this year. In fact, I have an idea how he felt. I have also been talking to him, “Tahir said.
With four games remaining to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the MS Dhoni-led unit would ideally seek to finish on the top.
With Bravo ruled out, CSK is likely to finally bring last year’s purple cap Imran Tahir to the playing XI for the remaining four games.
“And once four foreign players are established in CSK, it will be difficult for the fifth. I hope to get a match,” said Tahir. (AND ME)
