This comes after the president of DMK urged the governor of Tamil Nadu to consent to legislation that provides a 7.5% reserve on medical admissions for public school students.

“Request to consent to the bill passed in the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu to provide a horizontal reserve of 7.5 percent for public school students in medical studies,” the letter read.

“In light of the NEET results announced on October 16, 2020, government school students could benefit from the reserve in this academic year itself, only if the passage of the 7.5 horizontal reserve bill % approved by the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu is granted immediately, without further delay, ”the letter said.
