“It has hurt the feelings of party workers”: Ashok Gehlot attacks Kapil Sibal | India News

NEW DELHI: Congress leader and chief minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot Monday crashed Kapil sibal and said there was no need for the senior party leader to discuss internal party issues in the media.
“Kapil Sibal’s move has hurt the sentiments of party workers across the country,” Gehlot said in a series of tweets, stating “Even today, Congress is the only party that can hold this nation together and lead it toward forward on the path of integral development. ”

“Congress has seen several crises, including those of 1969, 1977, 1989 and later in 1996, but we have come out stronger every time due to our ideology, programs, policies and our firm belief in the leadership of the party,” stated the CM from Rajasthan.

Noting that Congress has improved with each and every crisis and that it also formed the UPA government in 2004 under the able leadership of Soniaji, Gehlot said that “we will also get through this moment.”
“There are various reasons for the electoral losses. But each time the rank and file of the Congress party has shown firm and undivided faith in the leadership of the party and that is why we come out of it stronger and united after each crisis,” he said.

Gehlot was reacting to the statements of Sibal, who once again questioned the functioning of the party leadership.
Sibal was one of 23 leaders who wrote a letter seeking radical reforms in the party.
Claiming that he was “forced to speak publicly” because “there is no forum in the party to discuss party issues,” he said Congress needs efficient, high-level leaders to administer the elections.
His remarks in the wake of the party’s dismal performance in the Bihar assembly polls, as well as the series of by-elections in various states, are seen as an apparent attack on the team. Rahul gandhi whose handpicked team participated in the electoral process.
He also expressed dissatisfaction that no high-ranking party leader had spoken about the Bihar results.
