The “monoclonal neutralizing antibody” developed at the Israel Biological Research Institute (IIBR) “can neutralize it (the disease-causing coronavirus) within the bodies of carriers,” Defense Minister Naftali Bennett said in a statement. .
The antibody reported to have been isolated from IIBR is monoclonal, meaning that it was derived from a single recovered cell and therefore has a potentially more potent value for producing a treatment.
IIBR is now involved in the patenting process for the finding, after which in the next stage, its researchers will begin to approach international companies to produce the antibody on a commercial scale.
