Railways issue a refund policy for passengers not fit to travel To date, 1.12 lakh tickets have been reserved to transport more than 2 lakh people on these trains.

The Railways issued a refund policy on Wednesday if a passenger is unable to board the train for showing symptoms of new coronavirus. “If during the examination a passenger has a very high temperature / symptoms of covid-19, they will not be allowed to travel despite having confirmed the tickets. In such case, a full refund will be provided to the passenger, ”said the notice.

Per policy, refunds will be provided to passengers based on

* In PNR with a single passenger

* In a party ticket if a passenger is not fit to travel and also all other passengers in the same PNR do not wish to travel, in this case a full refund will be generated for all passengers

* In a party ticket if a passenger is not fit to travel, however, other passengers in the PNR wish to travel, in this case a full refund will be generated to the passenger who was not allowed to travel.

For all of the above cases, TTE certificates based on the exam will be issued to the passenger and an online TDR must be submitted within 10 days from the date of travel.

The Railroad Board sent the instructions to their areas in which it said that for special Rajdhanis and those to be notified, they will now have waiting lists of up to 100 for AC level 3, 50 for AC level 2, 200 for Sleeper class 100 for saddle wagons and 20 each for First AC and Executive Class, significantly truncating queues for confirmed tickets. The changes will be applicable to trains that run from May 22 and whose reservations will open on May 15.

On Wednesday, more than 19,000 passengers traveled on these special trains. To date, 1.12 lakh tickets have been reserved to transport more than 2 lakh people on these trains.
