Royal Challengers Bangalore
Main talking point:
The Royal Challengers Bangalore have disbursed three major signings abroad: Chris Morris, Moeen Ali and Aaron Finch. Morris came up with a price tag of INR 10 crore. The franchise revealed in a video after signing that they were ready to shell out more. Now, he is after a season in which he racked up 11 wickets in nine games with a more than acceptable economy of 6.63, due to his history of injuries and lack of cricket since IPL 2020.
Moeen played all three games last season, while Shivam Dube, among his Indian players to let go, failed to make an impact on order with the bat and was used sparingly on the ball. The franchise has filled the SUV void by insuring Harshal Patel and Daniel Sams through Delhi Capitals operations.
Harshal was one of the best sewing bowling all-rounders on the Indian national circuit in all formats in 2019-20 and is a much better bowler than the one who represented the 2012-17 Royal Challengers, having increased his pace and developed the potential to become a finisher.
Meanwhile, Australian white ball captain Finch will be looking for a ninth IPL team after being released. Finch didn’t have a great bat career at IPL 2020, counting just half a century in 12 innings, and lost his spot towards the end of the group stage. His losing streak for Melbourne Renegades in the BBL season (169 runs in 11 innings without a half century) may not have helped his cause.
What you need:
A strong middle-order Indian batsman who can fool the ball and a backup closer to strengthen a strong bowling lineup made up of Navdeep Saini, Mohammed Siraj, Kane Richardson, Sams and Harshal.
Balance purse: 35.7 crore, the second largest stock exchange after Kings XI Punjab
What they say:
Morris did very well for us, but what happened is that he had injuries. Missed a little cricket [during the IPL] and he hasn’t played since so there is a little risk for us there [with the INR 10 crore purse]. Finch was a great addition from a leadership perspective, whether he plays or not, but we decided to take a slightly different path. Josh Phillipe gives us that first-rate cover. ”

Hyderabad sunrises
Main topic of conversation:
Fabian Allen and Billy Stanlake were the two big names launched by Sunrisers Hyderabad. They also released Sanjay Yadav, B Sandeep and Prithvi Raj. None of the five released players got a game last season.
The fact that captain David Warner, Rashid Khan and Kane Williamson / Jonny Bairstow are automatic selections in the XI makes it difficult for other foreign players to break through. Last year Allen was competing with Mohammed Nabi for the off-road spot, but once Bhuvneshwar was injured they found the best balance with Jason Holder at the side. Holder was selected as an injury replacement for Mitchell Marsh, and the Sunrisers have decided to retain both.
Balance purse: INR 10.75 crore
What you need:
If all of their players are available, the Sunrisers have the majority of the bases covered. What they lack is an experienced middle-order Indian hitter.
What they say:
“The point is, the Sunrisers can only play with four foreign players and the ideal would be to play with five. They have to choose between Bairstow and Kane Williamson every day. So I don’t think they need more foreign players.”

Mumbai Indians
Main topic of conversation:
Mumbai Indians practically emptied their overseas fast bowling contingent by freeing Nathan Coulter-Nile, James Pattinson and Mitchell McClenaghan. Sherfane Rutherford, Prince Balwant Rai, and Digvijay Deshmukh were the others with whom they parted ways.
While Lasith Malinga informed the franchise of his unavailability, McClenaghan may not fit into the long-term plans. However, the removal of Coulter-Nile and Pattinson comes as a surprise, as both were impressive as third closers to Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult. Pattinson collected 11 wickets from ten games in an economy of 9.04 while Coulter-Nile bagged five of seven at 7.92. Both could also contribute the bat.
Balance purse: INR 15.35 crore
What you need:
Since Bumrah and Dhawal Kulkarni are the only fast bowlers with international experience in the team, Mumbai is expected to go big with pacemakers, especially foreign ones and fast bowling all-rounders. They can also try tying to a hook to accompany Rahul Chahar.
What they say:
“Lasith Malinga has been at the center of the Mumbai Indians for 12 years. We respect his decision, although I would have liked him to be a part of our bowling attack for another five years. Malinga is an MI legend. We will miss the Wankhede sings for he “.

Kolkata Knight Riders
Main point of conversation:
Despite two bad IPL seasons, the two-time champions have retained doll shooter Kuldeep Yadav. Dinesh Karthik, who resigned as captain after seven games at IPL 2020, has also been retained, along with Sunil Narine, Pat Cummins and the 2018 U19 World Cup trio of Shubman Gill, Kamlesh Nagarkoti and Shivam Mavi.
Their main squad remains intact, and the released players (Tom Banton, Chris Green, Ali Khan, Harry Gurney, M Siddharth, Nikhil Naik, and Siddhesh Lad) have never been starters. However, the list of low-key player pitches means that their available budget – the second lowest among all teams – is roughly 20% of what Kings XI Punjab has.
Balance purse: INR 10.85 crore
What you need:
An Indian fast bowler with cap will be a high priority as they have none. They also need a backup wicketkeeper for Karthik with Banton and Naik released.
What they say:
“I enjoyed the rumors circulating, rather than the reality. I defy to get some calls because you are filming in the dark about the location of IPL 2021: India or the United Arab Emirates. Our expert group considered that we have a balanced team. Over the years we’ve had small teams and went into mini auctions looking for small adjustments. We don’t need too many significant changes. Eoin Morgan will have a full season.
“In our setup, we don’t put players back into the auctions to try and buy them cheaper. The dynamics of the auctions is one of bid and ask, and in mini-auctions in particular, there is no logic when pricing is set. Concern doesn’t matter at all. The first four years, Russell had an INR 60 lac contract, so these things balance each other. It was more a matter of team composition and balance. Honestly, we forgot about the money. ”
