IPL 2020: ‘You don’t see that in T20 cricket’, Michael Vaughan names Indian Pacer as ‘world’s best sewing bowler’ – cricket

Former England captain Michael Vaughan said he had “no doubt” in his mind that Mumbai Indians fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is currently the best in world cricket.

Vaughan’s comments came after Bumrah posted a career-best 4 out of 14 to lead the Mumbai Indians to a 57-run win over Delhi Capitals in 2020 IPL Qualifier 1 in Dubai that led them to to his sixth IPL final.

“I have no hesitation in saying that he is the best in the world at the moment,” Vaughan said in a Cricbuzz video.

Vaughan highlighted the fact that Bumrah has taken 10 wickets by giving away just 45 runs in the last IPL matches he has played this year.

“10 of 45 in his last three games, I mean you don’t see that in T20 cricket. I don’t think anyone would say that Jasprit Bumrah is the best needlework bowler in the world today, ”added Vaughan.

The former England captain attributed Bumrah’s ability to throw cross-field deliveries to his ability to watch the batter until the last moment due to a short and steady run.

“He waits and waits and waits and throws that big ball right at the last minute. The ball that caught Stonis was too fast, it went through him before he knew it, ”Vaughan said.

Bumrah is currently the biggest wicket taker in this IPL and the Purple Cap holder with 27 wickets to his name in 14 games.

Vaughan wasn’t the only one who rated Bumrah the best in the world. Mumbai Indians bowling coach and former New Zealand fast bowler Shane Bond had similar things to say about Bumrah as well.

“Jasprit (Bumrah), it’s a privilege to see you. The best T20 bowler in the world doing his job, ”Bond said in a video posted by MI on his Twitter account.

Bumrah fired his India teammate Shikhar Dhawan with a yorker and returned rival captain Shreyas Iyer, Delhi top scorer Marcus Stoinis and Daniel Sams to claim the 4-14 and best player of the match award.

“I felt the starting yorker was very important,” Bumrah said after defending champion Mumbai triumphed 57 runs to reach the final on November 10.

“I had decided that I was going to do that. When it comes out like this, it feels great.

“The first fields are important, especially with the arrival of the dew. I usually don’t focus on the end result. Whenever I have tried to focus on the end result, it goes downhill. “
