IPL 2020: ‘Will fly back’, CEO says CSK player will play no more part in 2020 Indian Premier League – cricket

Things have not gone as planned for Chennai Super Kings this season. They were big favorites before season 13 of the Indian Premier League. They were in the spotlight as fans were excited to see MS Dhoni return to action after more than a year. He had also announced his retirement from international cricket before the tournament.

However, things got off to a bad start for the three-time champions. Several players and staff members were found to be positive for Covid-19 during testing. Then star hitter Suresh Raina and seasoned spinner Harbhajan Singh left the UAE for India for personal reasons. They won the first match against the Mumbai Indians, but things have been tough ever since. CSK is now in last position in the 2020 IPL points table with just 3 wins in 10 matches.

With only four games to play for them, it seems likely that CSK will not become a top four team for the first time in their history. They’ve also taken another hit as off-roader Dwayne Bravo has been ruled out of the season due to a groin injury.

Speaking to ANI, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan said the West Indies must fly home in a few days and will not play any more part in the league.

“No, Bravo is not playing more part this time and the groin injury has ruled him out. It will fly back in a day or two, ”said the CEO.

Kasi Viswanathan also spoke about the absence of Raina and Harbhajan.

“Without question, Raina and Harbhajan are vital cogs in the CSK unit and they were missed. But you have to respect personal decisions and that’s how we work regardless of whether it is a senior or junior player, “he explained.

CSK will face the Mumbai Indians on Friday at the Sharjah Stadium.
