IPL 2020: ‘Villiers’ Virat Kohli-AB association seemed to be in a coma’ – Virender Sehwag on RCB’s loss to CSK – cricket

Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered an 8-wicket loss to the Chennai Super Kings led by MS Dhoni in the 2020 Indian Premier League on Sunday. Kohli had scored his half-century of IPL 39 in the match, but it wasn’t enough to help his team score a challenging total against Dhoni’s army. With Ruturaj Gaikwad breaking a fast fifty, MSD’s CSK chased the total of 146 runs in 19th on itself. (Total IPL coverage 2020)

Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag analyzed what happened during the game on his Youtube show ‘Viru Ki Baithak’ and according to him Kohli’s association with AB de Villiers was one of the reasons why RCB lost the match.

In his analysis, Sehwag said De Villiers and Kohli just didn’t get going and stranded RCB’s race pace.

“But what is this? Villiers’ AB and Virat Kohli batted together from 7 onwards. However, until the 18th, their association appeared to be in a coma. I even took a powerful nap in between.

“When I woke up they were still hitting at the same rate. They hadn’t started betting on the big shots. And then De Villiers came out on the 18th and CSK bowlers were able to restrict the RCB to 145/6, ”Sehwag said.

The former India starter also praised MS Dhoni for his captaincy.

“We were able to see MS Dhoni again in his ‘full captaincy mode’ on Sunday. He looked like the Dhoni of the past, making fantastic decisions on the field.

“He made good changes in bowling and choosing Santner was a smart decision. He used Deepak Chahar and Sam Curran completely in the killings, ”Sehwag said.

RCB will face the Mumbai Indians on Wednesday.
