Ishan Kishan had an excellent start in the 2020 Indian Premier League. After missing the first few games, the boy from Jharkhand became a vital cog in Mumbai Indian’s batting lineup. Whether hitting middle order or opening innings, Ishan excelled at every position he hit.
The youngster finished the season with 516 runs from 14 games with an average of 57.33. He was in fifth position on the list of leading career scorers for IPL 2020. His fierce 33-run, 20-ball hit against Delhi Capitals at the season finale led MI to an impressive 5-wicket victory.
Following his batting heroism, the dashing southpaw has garnered the attention of many game legends, including former Indian and IM all-rounder Yuvraj Singh.
Praising Ishan’s great streak at IPL 2020, Yuvraj tweeted: “Congratulations @mipaltan by far the best team in the #ipl, @ ImRo45 captains hit in the final! Heart goes to @DelhiCapitals had an exceptional tournament! @ ishankishan51 very special special player in the making. “
Yuvraj’s comment came as the Mumbai Indians defeated the Delhi Capitals by five wickets and eight balls to spare in the final of the tournament on Tuesday at the Dubai International Stadium.
As a result, the team won its fifth IPL IPL title. The franchise had previously won the tournament in 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2019.
The Mumbai Indians had finished the 2020 IPL group stage in first place with 18 points from 14 matches. The team had then advanced to the final after defeating Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 1.
