IPL 2020: ‘Time is running out’, Gautam Gambhir attacks Rajasthan Royals batsman – cricket

The Rajasthan Royals crashed after a great start to the 2020 IPL. After two impressive victories in high-scoring affairs in Sharjah, their hitting was a success in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. One of the main reasons for this is its excessive dependence on Jos Buttler, Steve Smith and Sanju Samson.

The seasoned Robin Uthappa has been one of RR’s biggest disappointments at this IPL and former India starter Gautam Gambhir believes Uthappa has not shone in any way.

“Time is running out for both Robin Uthappa and Riyan Parag. Uthappa hasn’t looked in any way, to be honest, “Gambhir told ESPNCricinfo.

5, 9, 2 and 17 have been Uthappa’s score in this IPL so far. Gambhir, who has shared the locker room with Uthappa for KKR, said time is running out for the right-hand batter from the wicket.

“Robin Uthappa has to deliver. There were high expectations that Robin could finish the games, and if not that, at least give them the boost they need in the middle order. So Robin has to live up to those expectations, ”said Gambhir.

The former KKR captain also said young Riyan Parag needs to come to the party too, otherwise there will be a lot of changes to the RR team mix as soon as Ben Stokes arrives.

“Riyan Parag has not looked in any way either. So obviously they have guys sitting on the bench, plus when Ben Stokes shows up, the mix will be completely different, “he said.

Gambhir spoke about the heavy reliance on the higher order for RR.

“It is quite difficult for them, because they rely heavily on Jos Buttler, Steve Smith and Sanju Samson. If everyone starts early in a game, there are serious problems for them, so they need to rectify their intermediate order, “she said.
