The captain of India and Royal Challengers Bangalore, Virat Kohli, is known as one of the fittest athletes in the world right now. Kohli’s dedication to his health and fitness has inspired many athletes around the world, and his focus on this aspect of the game has made him an icon in the modern sports industry.
In a recent interaction on Cricbuzz, former South African Shaun Pollock said that it was former India captain MS Dhoni who brought the intensity to the Indian team as captain. Pollock added that Kohli has taken that intensity to the next level.

Explaining his point, Pollock recalled an incident that happened during the India-South Africa series, which exemplified Kohli’s dedication to his fitness.
“When Dhoni took over the captaincy, he brought intensity to the party. He had a very calm demeanor in his captaincy. But when he got to the fold, he ran hard through the gates, the way he conducted himself, the way he rallied his troops, it was very good, “said Pollock.
“And Kohli has kept running with it. When I go to comment for the India-South Africa series, sometimes we finish the games early and people go to their hotels. I may go to the gym and I often see Kohli in the gym after the day’s game. After they’ve won, and they might be celebrating, but he’s in the gym, “Pollock said.
“Dhoni was the one who established that intensity and Kohli took it to the next level,” he added.
RCB failed to beat Chennai Super Kings on Sunday. They scored just 145 runs in 20 overs and CSK chased the target in 18.4 overs. Virat had scored fifty on 43 balls in the match.
