Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Indian Premier League meeting against Kings XI Punjab on Thursday was cut down to the last ball. In the end, it took a six at bat from Nichols Pooran to win the game for Punjab, as they chased the 172 total in 20 overs. RCB had chosen to hit earlier after winning the toss, but there was an unexpected change in the batting order that surprised some.
Villiers’ hero of RCB’s innings against KKR AB was pushed down in the batting order to hit no. 6. below Washington Sundar and Shivam Dube. De Villiers could not do his best to come out with 2 after facing 5 balls. (Total IPL coverage 2020)

“We had a talk, (AB hitting at # 6) was a message about the left hand and right hand combination. Sometimes these decisions you make don’t go away. But I think 170 was a decent score, ”Kohli said at the post-match presentation ceremony.
The RCB captain further said that the message for Sundar and Dube was to go after the bowling attack and make big shots. “That’s the idea, look and start hitting. But we couldn’t push them. We take great pride as a bowling team, but tonight was one of those nights, as it didn’t come out, ”Kohli said.
Speaking about the loss, RCB skipper Kohli said: “Some positive aspects of the game. To be honest, there was no conversation between Yuzi (Chahal) and me. Things got interesting to be honest. Like they let us get back in the game, because I think it should be over by the 18th ”.
RCB will face the Rajasthan Royals next Saturday.
