Ask Rahul Tripathi, who in addition to playing a winning shot for the Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday night against Chennai Super Kings, made one of his dreams come true. The adulation was such that when Tripathi was picking up his Player-of-the-Match Award, SRK, from the stands he shouted an epic line that has come to define his career, “Rahul, naam toh suna hoga”, in the context of the ‘Rahul’ who was collecting his award from Harsha Bhogle. The video of SRH delivering his dialogue in the highest tone of his voice went viral on social media.

However, moments later, KKR posted another short clip, where Dinesh Karthik appears to be flipping the side screen, when Tripathi came from behind and patted his captain on the back. Karthik then put his hands around Tripathi’s shoulder and introduced him to Shah Rukh as his “biggest fan of all time”.

Tripathi’s hit of 81 kept KKR’s innings together. Used as a lower-order hitter in previous games, team management promoted Tripathi to open innings in place of Sunil Narine and the hitters did not disappoint, hitting eight fours and three sixes during his game-winning hit.
