The Chennai Super Kings, led by MS Dhoni, will be the clear favorites when they face the Rajasthan Royals in the opening match of the contest. Dhoni was pushed down to promote Sam Curran over him in the IPL season opener against the Mumbai Indians. Curran proved Dhoni’s decision as to the right one when he broke 18 runs on 6 balls to help his side chase 163.
It’s been over 14 months since fans saw Dhoni hit, but in the early innings, he only faced a couple of deliveries. CSK and Dhoni fans will be eager to see more of Dhoni’s hitting against the Royals.
If Dhoni manages to score five sixes against the Rajasthan Royals, he will join his CSK teammate Suresh Raina and Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma on the elite roster.

Dhoni needs five sixes to bring his total score to 300 in T20 cricket. If he reaches the milestone, he will become the third Indian after Rohit Sharma (361) and Suresh Raina (311) to do so.
Meanwhile, speaking of the five-wicket victory over the Mumbai Indians, CSK head coach Fleming said in an interview on the CSK website: “It was great to get the points, two teams that were a bit nervous. after not having played for some time. It was always going to be almost a case of who was going to make the fewest mistakes.
