Rohit Sharma, captain of the Mumbai Indians, is sweating on the ground ahead of the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) opening match against Chennai Super Kings. The official Instagram account of the Mumbai Indians posted a video on Wednesday showing Rohit Sharma hitting the ball outside the stadium. In the video, Rohit can be seen coming down the court and hitting the ball directly over the player’s head. What was interesting about the shot was that Rohit managed to collide with a moving bus just outside the stadium.

“Batsmen smash sixes, Legends clear the stadium, Hitman breaks a six + clears the stadium + hits a moving bus,” the Mumbai Indians captioned in the video on Instagram.

Rohit is one of the most successful captains in the lucrative league. The right-handed hitter has led the Mumbai Indians to four IPL trophies, the most of any team.

Rohit was going through a purple patch with the bat before all cricket tournaments were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier this year, Rohit Sharma broke 140 runs in just four T20Is against New Zealand with an impressive hit rate of over 150.

On Sunday, the Indian cricket board released the 2020 IPL schedule and it was announced that the Mumbai Indians will begin their title defense against the three-time champion Chennai Super Kings on September 19.

The playoff schedule and the final will be announced later, according to a BCCI statement.

Promoted

The league of the cash rich has moved out of the country due to the increase in coronavirus cases in India.

All games will be played at three venues: Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
